Bobby with the lot . . .

Dunno if Dave's working or sleeping but he has had a lot to do under the 'Burger Rod'. New fuel lines, filters and pump and then follow that up with a transmission cooler and new braided steel lines and all this had to be contoured around the car's new exhaust system that is finally back from 'Jet Hot' coating. . .

'27 Willys . . .

This is the front LHS cowling panel, or what's left of it . . .

'D' has cut out replacement pieces and tack welded them in place before a final stitch weld and then a light finish grind. Too much heat on these panels and you will never get the buckles out. The steel will end up like ripples on a pond, so you have to go slowly and tread lightly with the heat . . .

'D' is now facing the same problems down the back on the 1/4 panels, although these panels are that flimsy they are already buckled to the shithouse. You can see the bends and waves in the pics. . .

Filling all the holes in the firewall so that the boys have a clean slate for the transition to V8 and then the auto tunnel also has to be cut out . . .

How's this for a new rear end? It came with nothing but a huge gaping hole. Andrew and 'D' have put in the hard yards and rolled a new arse end before adding a new boot lid, all hand made without any templates to follow. . .

Cliffy's '56 F100 . . .

Fair dinkum, you need an engine up your arse to follow this bloke around from job to job, he never stops, and then there's the fucking phone!
Anyway, this one shows the big fella measuring up Cliffy's F100 for its new idiot steering column. Or should I say Ididit, fucked if I know, stupid name for such a good product. . .

New steering column is now in place and you can also see the new rear brake drums over on the passenger's side floor. I love the look of these drums and might see if I can sneak a set onto the old HJ?

'59 2Door Wagon . . .

With "D' deciding to stand down on this job, Andrew stepped in and finished the internal rustwork. These areas are so work intensive it is beyond description of the work involved with sliding window guide rails to deal with as well as the rusted out wheel wells. No wonder 'D' had had enough and walked away to another job, this one was 'doing his head in'. Luckily nothing phases the big fella and he just took it in his stride and made it look easy. . .

Before giving up, 'D' made an incredible transformation of the forward flooring sections of the wagon. . .

'59 Two door Wagon . . .

For those of you who have been wondering what 'D' has been doing, you will find that he has spent the last two weeks inside and under the 2door wagon seen earlier on. Approximately 50 to 60% of the flooring has to be replaced due to rust and then he has to tackle the rear wheel arches that are not only rusted out inside and out, but also carry internal window channelling for rear sliding windows. . .

'27 Willys. . .

Hodgey has been busy and finished welding in the 4bar triangulated rear suspension system before moving on to the next job . . .

Next job and this is gonna be bordering on the near impossible and fully shit. Hodgey has started with one inch box section to strengthen the frame work around the cabin before 'steeling' it in. This is gonna be a mammoth task with the amount of rusty panelling and the fact that most of the panels are 'paper' thin. . .

Bobby with the lot . . .

Dave was full of himself thinking that he'd nearly finished wiring up the '34 Coupe until he opened another box and found the new fuel pump, regular, filter and braided lnes, just waiting to be installed. . .

Fuel regulator is sitting neatly in the corner of the engine bay while the pump and filters are mounted underneath in line under the LHS and the return line, as this motor is fuel injected, runs down the driver's side and back into the boot mounted fuel tank. . .

'27 Willy's . . .

This is a frame from a '27 Willy's that's been dropped into the shed in a half fucked up condition and now Hodgey is to turn it into a turn key rod . . .

Not your usual transplant but the owner is not after big horsepower, so the transplant diff has come from an XF Ford donor. Looking at the pics you will see an unusual looking 'K' frame section and certainly not the way that Hodgey sets up his chassis assemblies. . .

This is the body section that was delivered along with the chassis. The owner is setting his rod along the lines of the old 'Salt' racers and will be something special. Motor is an old Flat-top of course. . .

As you can see, Andrew has started on the 4bar set-up and has to cut and weld most of the mounting kit that came with the car. Bushes had to be drilled, 'wings' cut off mounting blocks and careful measuring of the diff and old mounts have to be carried out before any welding can be done . . .

Burger with the lot . . .

Bobby's burger flipper is nearly back together and ready to head off to the painters for a lick of, nah can't tell you what color, you'll just have to wait, but you Army blokes should be grinning about now?

It's all hands on deck when it's time to get the cars out the door and it's not only the apprentices that get the menial jobs in this shed. Hodgey is busy with the red pot scrubbing pads to get a nice clean flat finish on the galvanised rear bumper . . .

Scott's EH Wagon . . .

Andrew cut out the old transmission tunnel and carefully measured up the EH floor-plan for the new tunnel that has to house the huge new gearbox that is to be mounted behind the Chevy powerplant that's just waiting for the open road. .

Bob's '34 Burger . . .

Dave has been working really hard to get the Coupe back together and would be probably a lot further down the road if I would stop asking questions and seeking help with my HJ. . .

Rear end looks great with parallel four bar with top mounted pan-hard rod. Dave has since mounted the diff centre and axles and also painted the firewall in flat black of course. . .

'29 Model A Tudor . . .

How good does the old girl look now she's down on her own four feet?

130mm ground clearance is perfectly legal and yet it looks so tiny. It comes up to Hodgey's hip!

Even a sneaky peak at her rear end looks good. This is going to be one hell of a Gangsta!

Bob's Big Burger Coupe . . .

Dave's got the job of putting the Coupe back together and at the moment is working on the braking system. Paint work is holding up well to the rough and tumble of getting all it's external parts attached back into place. This usually results in a few nicks and scratches in the paintwork but so far this paint has held up well . .

Floor of the Coupe has now had a couple of coats of the old flat black and is now waiting to be be put back in place on top of the chassis when it's all connected up together again. . .

'29 Model A Tudor . . .

Andrew is now putting the front end together on the old '29 Tudor. . .

These are some very nice components that are being used. . .

F E Holden . . .

FE back from the painters, it's time for the boys to put it back together again. . .for the 10th time!

New bonnet looks great without the old style twin carbs hanging through the bonnet. . .

Nothing says Early Holden Street Machine better than a full set of deep dish Centrelines! The new motor hidden away under the bonnet just happens to have upwards of 600 horses just waiting to turn those tyres. . .

Another Taranto . . .

I am personally wondering how many more cars that can be delivered from the Taranto shed for repairs and mods? This one is a '56 Ford Sunliner and it's in to have the roof catches fixed.

Interior in this car has to be seen to be believed, it is absolutely spotless, you really need to wipe your boots and change your overalls before parking your arse in the front seat, it's immaculate. . .

'29 Model A Tudor . . .

Off the rack and on to the floor so that the boys can get on with attaching the diff and front suspension. Always a good sign when they come off the rack . . .

Fat Bob's Burger Rod . . .

A quick coat of flat balck and waiting for it to dry before doing it again but turning her over first. . .

Chassis looks shit hot with a good lick of flat black, Dave has done an excellent job. . .

'29 Model A Tudor . . .

Hodgey has been a busy boy and is setting up the front end. It's only being put in place to check for fitment before the welder comes out. . .

Custom engine mounts by Dave. Really cool and super strong with connecting brace going underneath and connecting the two sides together for more regidity. . .

Hodgey has again shown what he is capable of with this three piece tunnel and transmission hump, all custom measured and hand rolled to final fitment. . .

Monday 2 February 2015

L'il Pick-up . . .

'D' has been running the pick-up around a little bit to check that everything is ready for rego, hence the 'P'plates in the windows . . .

Fat Bobby's Big Burger . . .

Frame is back from the sandblaster and Jaimie has given it a good coat of etched primer before sending it back. Dave has spent the morning rubbing it down with steel wool to make sure it's really ready to 'pop' with a coat of gloss paint . . .

Dave finishing of the sanding duties on the two axle tubes ready for the paint booth . . .

Sunday 1 February 2015

Malcolm's '34 3 Window . . .

Mudguard bases have been cut out with the plasma cutter and cleaned up with flapper discs on the 4inch grinder before the two main retaining brackets are mounted into place . . .

The main brackets are checked for squareness and then bent around the side walls of the tyres to maintain a very close profile. . .

Big fella has nearly got this side dne and is just checking everything for being properly squared up and that the guard runs a very close gap around the tyre. . .

Hard work finished with just a quick clean up with the flapper disc and then it's time for some paint. Don't forget that the other side has to be made up to match . . .
