Thieving Bastards. . .

Just a quick warning to all of those amongst us who have to buy new/second hand parts for their custom projects. As you know, I am in the middle of building my HJ Prem and it was suggested to me by my 'new' auto elec (good onya Kelvin) that I might want to install a 'Charge and Maintain unit' into my electrical system so that I always had a nice fresh, fully charged battery. Well I phoned one local battery company who has been in business in Ballarat for as long as I can remember and they quoted me $110 for the unit and $100 if I paid cash and also goodwill because I am on a disability pension. I then rang Greville's auto elecs and asked for the same product and they quoted me $48 for the exact same part number. Well the local battery company that's waiting for me to turn up and purchase my discounted 'Charge and Maintain unit' can go fuck themselves. I won't name the company involved but I will say that it is NOT R&J Batteries. . .

'34 Coupe . . .

These two pics show the newly constructed front and rear mud-guards that Hodgey has made up for Brad's '34 Coupe. As you can see in this pic, the front chassis rails haven't yet been repainted, but I can tell you that by the time that you read this, that Brad has already picked up the freshly paintedcoupe and it has been returned to its place of residence. . .
Something that I'm NOT allowed to tell you is the possible co-venture between Brad and Andrew on the construction of some seriously nice custom vehicles. Just remember, you DIDN'T hear it from me!

The most important tool in the shack . . .

Laugh if you must, but this jack is the most utilised and at the same time, the most underated tool in Hodgey's shed! This poor fella is on stand-by 24hours a day and there would be many a job not yet finished if it wasn't for this hard-worker jumping in and rising to the occasion. . .I am certain that it will be sadly missed. . .

Look who's back. . .

You might remember all the work and directional changes that the boys carried out on this golden oldie, well it's back and plans are afoot for more major changes. . .
Better remember this photo, coz things ain't staying this way for long. . .
Told ya! Engine bay is to be 'cleaned up' and made ready for about 650 new ponies. . .
Old 383chev that's been given the 'flick'. Absolutely nothing wrong with it and if you think it would look good in your wife's shopping 'trolley' then give Hodgey a call. . .

Visitor to the shed . . .

A nice old HQ One-tonner making a return visit to the shed. It hasn't been seen, by anyone, for quite a while because it's been in storage. . . .
Very sleek and low profile with a 21/2inch roof chop and she sits nice and low on a set of drop spindles. . .
The HQ is undoubtably one of, if not, the nicest Holdens going round. A classic design. . .
Have a look at the tray on this baby. With the paint flowed on, the tray looks like liquid art-work and yep, it was the big Hodgeyman who made up the tray and wheel tubs. . .

Bert's Drifter . . .

Bertie Beetle's rear glassware for is Drifter has fnally arrived back from Geelong Glass. This is a full custom rear windscreen made to measurements taken by hodgey with a folding carpenter's ruler and written down by Dylan on a piece of old ply using his crayons from kindergarten. . .
Somehow the Geelong boys got it right and it fits perfectly. It works the same as a Ford Territory and the window opens as well as the rear door. . .

Just needs the edges to be 'shadow' painted like all ne car glass and then the rear door section will be complete. Then it's on to the side doors. .

'56 Victoria . . .

Remember this one? Well the tubs are finished, the new tank is in the boot and I hope like hell that he never gets a puncture, coz he's got no fucking hope of changing the rear wheels unless he hires a tow-truck and removes the rear suspension. On a more positive note, it looks hot, shit hot!!!
Custom extractors were the next item to be ticked off the list. The boys had to install a mock-up motor so they could check the clearances and no problems here either. . .
Have a look at who's back, yep Johnny has put in a long awaited appearance just to check and see if things are still running correctly and can you believe it, in all that time that he's been missing, he still remembers how to lean on the bench and bark out orders. Good onya Johnny, great to see you back. . .

I'm Baack. . .

Just for those of you who have missed out on your daily dose of Hodgey's Hotrods, it just goes to show all of you that you should appreciate me a helluva lot more, coz without me there ain't no Hodgey's Hotrods. . .Now that you all know how important that I am, I might consider giving you an update on what's been happening?
For those of you really nice people who have been concerned as to all the work that has been carried out on my HJ Prem, forget it.  .  . yep it took the auto elec 7weeks to do exactly fucking nothing! Apart from that major fuck-up, I shall now fill you in on the jobs that have had work carried out. .  .
