Orange County Pussies . .

You reckon that father/son pair from Orange County Choppers have got a bit of 'go' in 'em, well they only throw chairs around the office and call each other names. Have a look at this pair working under the SS Impala, Junior (Andrew) has got a chunk the size of a fifty dollar note missing outta  the top of his head while the Old Man has got a black eye with scratches and bruises all over his left cheek and then he's also got skin and shit missing from the knuckles of one of his hands. Luckily they're only fitting the diff back into the Impala and aren't really taking things seriously!

Diff is sitting up in the huge tunnel and the lower trailing arms have fitted straight back into place, Andrew now has to make some mounts for the other couple of swing arms that come standard underneath the SS Impala and it will be time to weld in the new tubs.
BTW, I used a telephoto lens for these couple of pics, because there ain't no way on God's Green Earth that I'm crawling under that Impala with that pair!

Santa's Sleigh . . .

Have a look at this will ya? Dave's gone bloody mad and turned the Manx into Santa's Sleigh!
New hand-made side sectioning is now in place and he has stated fitting the new floors . . .

Johnny's Trike . . .

Fairly solid mounting system for the extra wide mud guards for the rear wheels. This mounting system had to be bloody rigid to hold such a large guard in place while the trike is bouncing all around the joint with Johnny at the head of the pack and roundin 'em all up . . .
Johnny was impressed with the quality of work but he remained fairly tight lipped when he was quizzed as to what else had been done to his steed. He muttered something about checking all phones at the office upon arrival and him re-issueing them at the end of shift. There was more than one bead of sweat making its way down his angry, furrowed brow I can tell you. I didn't bother asking any more questions . . .

SS Impala . . .

Before and after shots here folks and before we get to the 'befores' we need plenty of sparks. . . we love sparks!
This is the metal work that has been finished welding and with a bit more grinding to come.
Finally with a bit of body deadener sprayed over the new panels for a bit of protection, we have the finished product. This is where the old chassis was cut out and brought in approx 400mm to allow for those monster 15inch drag slicks. . .

Manx . . .

Well this thing is getting a helluva lota work thrown at it at the moment and it's starting to look really good too I must admit. This will be its running height with both wheels in place and body sitting on newly constructed chassis and outerside rails . . .
Forget the funny colors at the moment because the pics are being taken inside a large factory style shed and the lighting screws up the color balance of digital cameras and I haven't got the extra two hours tonight to reset all the pics. . .
This bright yellow thingie is a hand-made template of the 'flow' that the side panels will follow from the front guard, really cool and really classic lines of the old hot-rods. . .

HJ . . .

My man Dylan finishing off the roof for a broken down old fart like myself, good onya mate, proud of ya. We also found that the sea-weed discs work extremely well for removing the paint, surface rust and leaves a nicer finish than the wire wheels and fuck'n steel rulers, you can see the surface has a polished look where 'D' is working at the moment . . .

Brooke's Baby . . .

Brooke's Baby, you're looking at a '12 Challenger and it's got the big 5.0 badge on it as well as a couple of other nice accessories, check out the stripe job and the black mags. . pure porn
First one in Oz to be treated to the RHD conversion and it is a little stiff in the steering according to Brooke and she should know being one of our exec's at Holden in Adelaide and her everyday driver is a thumpin' GTS. Grunt you ask? Brooke tells us that it's got more grunt than a Razorback banging the shit out of his favorite sow at Roxby Downs in the outback of SA, when the pedal goes to the metal you just wanna sit back and squeal. . .
Right hand drive conversion is superbly done and Brooke said that she would use the same mob in Melb anytime. The '012 Challenger's have the new steer by wire set-up and like I said a bit earlier it seems a little stiffer than a normal set-up . . .Thanks for giving us a peek Brooke and for dropping by and letting us check out your new ride . . .

Manx . . .

The boys are definately making good pace on the Manx. The body is on and off about 6 times a day to check the measurements because any early mistakes will definately show up later and then it's too late . . .
New hubs and brake drums with enough holes to make it look like a shotgun pattern, but infact allows for a couple of different wheel stud patterns and this Manx is being made up with the Chevy pattern . . .

HJ . . .

Old paint coming off the roof very FN slowly.
Seems to me that someone is taking the piss out of the poor old owner and having a giggle behind his back by making him use a stainless ruler to scratch it off like a dog with fleas. . .

Grey day in Ballarat . . .

The big fella couldn't pick a greyer day in Ballarat to bring out his Merc to show off his new hubcaps. . .
Great car, great bloke and sexay hubcaps, woohoo. . .

SS Impala . . .

The old sectioned piece of the subframe is welded into place and now there is a fair bit of follow up boxing in to follow. . .
From here you can see the beautifully grafted/crafted new sections that have been moulded into place and awaiting to be boxed into place. When finished it will be stronger than new and has to be installed as 'true' as is possible because this beast is going to be planting incredible horsepower through this fabrication and it needs to go straight. . . dead straight.

Clean-out . . .

Time for a clean out, the big fella's cracked the shits and told Dave that anything down in the back corner under a rug has to be pulled out and thrown down the bloody tip. Just make sure that you check the rug first because it might be worth keeping otherwise it goes too.

Manx. . .

Dave and Nigel have done a real good job of joining the two body parts together. As per usual the joins are near invisible . . .

'99 Suzuki 'Intruder'. . .

Couple of sleazy lookin clinkers hangin round the carpark. I'll have to get 'Jack' to increase the local patrols. Luckily it's only an old Suzuki that they're hangin round. . .Just kidding folks, about the bike that is. This ciccle has turned out better than expected and of course the wonderful photographs will bring all of its magic into all of your lounge-rooms. That might be a bit thick, but this bike has turned out shit-hot. . .
21inch front wheel, new white wall stripes, new leather on the saddle, this bike is now set up and ready for cruising. . .
Unusual to see a seat this much wider than the tank, especially wider than a Harley. Nice looking old hay carter in the back-ground.

Nigel's 'bird. . .

Look who's back after her little indescretion. Naughty girl swingin' that beautiful arse all over the place and re-arranging the rear geometry let alone completely fucking up one of the front coil overs. But we forgive you, because she had a couple of minor wiring problems also. . .
So, now she's back and ready to test out Nigel's abilities behind the steering stick once more. . .
Have a look at that profile, absolutely beautiful wheels and a pretty good repair job too. . .
I included this pic because it's just pure 'horn' this 'Bird' rocks. . .

'61 Manx. . .might be a '63, I could be shot for that?

Overhead picture of Dave checking all the measurements on the two sections being welded together to make up the Manx. Old front section and newer Super Bug rear section. . .
Err, I think you left a few pieces out Dave?

SS Impala. . .

Hodgey working on the sub-frame so that it can be re-installed. . .
Subframe ready to go back into rear end of the big SS. Can you believe that Andrew had to remove 400mm from the centre of the subframe so that those huge donuts could be mounted and left alone to do their stuff. . .
Subframe tacked back into place, Hodgey just has to get out his measuring stick to see if things look fairly close and then weld her in. . .

Johnny's Trike. . .

Funny thing about Johnny, if he ever see's you walking aroung with a camera in your hand he tells you to get to buggery with that effing thing, but if there has been something new added to his trike he's yelling out, "Hey Bruce where's your camera?"
Huge guards all ready to cover up those huge bloody tyres, only got to work out how to hang them in place now? A lot of work in these guards, you can see where they were split down the middle and a 6inch section added to widen them. A lot of precision welding and grinding to get them to this stage, they still have to be filled, ground and painted before they will be ready for use. Try telling that to the madman, he will have them covered in water and mud and rusted up inside a week if he gets his way!

Johnny's Trike. . .

Chrome right angle bend and K&N conical air cleaner and the carby set-up is finally finished on the grumpy old buggars trike. Must admit thought, it's a pretty good looking unit. . .

SS Impala. . .

Diff is getting close to being rebuilt and Dave has welded the mounting hardware onto the new diff. . .
This is it, the Moser has been shortened and rebuilt ready for installation under the big SS. . .

Thursday 18 July 2013

HJ. . .

This is the running height od the HJ with full suspension travel, it's unreal how these blokes rework the suspension so that the car sits in the weeds with full travel. . .
Motor's in and front end has been rebuilt, looks like it's about time we started rubbing her back to bare metal. . .

SS Impala. . .

New support section for the rear sub-frame. That huge gap is for the tubs to fill!
Moser diff has been shortened and this is the single locked gear that runs inside the 'pumpkin'.

Wednesday 17 July 2013

HJ. . .

Picked up the diff for the HJ today and words cannot describe the unit that has been returned.
I'm telling you right now, it was pissin me off because it was about 4-5 weeks overdue, but bloody hell, he coulda took another year and I'd still be happy. . .
Hand-made bracing plate that fits over the top of the diff and also takes the shape and rear bolts pass through the same plate, ultimate strength.
Billet axles, 3:55.1 gears and Detroit slippery centre. Notice also that the bracketry for the trailing arms has been hand made and welded up in a jig for ultimate accuracy. Couldn't be happier. . .

Blue Hoggcicle. . .

Good looking hogg, dunno why he wants to change it, but it's been in the shed for a few modifications so it looks like it's time for a few more. Owner dropped it i with a short list of instructions and walked off carrying his hat, I'm sure he'll be back soon. . .

SS Impala. . .

This is an outside looking in pic of how the Impala is going to look sitting down low on those huge donuts. . .
Color looks a bit different in this one because the flash was used but it still looks unbelievably tough sitting low on those big 15's. . .
This is about a year of my pay about to be cut and diced, Moser (USA) diff about to be shortened 40mm each side. . .
Too late now the end bearing caps are missing and the axle tubes are now 40mm shorter, geez I hope we measured it correctly? What is it, cut once or twice and make sure to measure it at least three times, or something like that. I'm sure that it will be close enough, we'll know soon enough if it drives straight into the wall at its first try out. . .
