Tandem Trailer . . .

From memory ths is about the third or fourth tandem trailer that has been presented this year for a full refurbishment. Dave has spent 3 or 4 days on this one because it really was a poor effort on the fabricators side of things in the first place. Firstly the axles had to be extended and the wheel hubs needed a full reco.

Then as you can see from the size of the holes that Dave is fitting with new metal, the trailer had very little chance of fitting a full size vehicle on to its tray, that's six inches of metal added to both sides to get the wheels running true with the outside of the trailer!

Pretty obvious from this pic that Dave has constructed a new winch mount for the front of the trailer, but what's not so obvious is the bracing that's been welded into the actual 'A' frame draw bars of the trailer. There was over half the length of each arm that wasn't supported!
