Boys are back in town. . .

The boys love the warm weather and bring out the serious rides for the daily commute to work and home. . .

Every bike here has been hand crafted in Hodgey's shed and the boys take their work seriously and turn out some incredibly individual cycles. . .

White line fever. . .

Swiv's Sporter back in for some white-wall modifications carried out by the legendary Leo Lysaught. The number on the tank is in gold leaf with hand painted pinstriping and completely changes the look of the bike. . .

Nearing completion. . .

When the bonnet goes into place you can be pretty sure that things are nearly finished. . .

Fitting up of the front mounted Moon tank which will be situated behind the front grill is one of the last tasks to be performed. . .

These things look pretty serious and would seem to indicate that the front end should get used to a bit of 'air time'. . .

Plymouth wiper. . .

This is the pic of the Plymouth's wiper motor and you can see how well this car has survived the years. An old 6volt system. . .

Pretty easy to see Hodgey's influence here. The old girl is to receive a replacement front end in the form of a HQ complete transfer. . .

Plymouth. . .

Andrew and Johnny have been working on the old Plymouth and the front clip has been removed. . .

Carefully selecting the screws and bolts to undo has resulted in the front clip being removed in one piece. . .

Amazing detail still remains on the old original badges. The wiper motor is clearly ledgible and is a "Made in Australia" unit of 6volts. . .

Exhaust nearing completion. . .

Dave working on completing the driver's side pipes. . .

As can be seen in the pic, the exhaust is straight through for drag applications and detours through the side vent and rearwards for street duties. . .

Driver's side outlet is welded into place and awaiting the street system to be installed into place. . .

New word of the week. . .

The new word for this week is 'Gosch'. . .
The Webster dictionary tells us that its meanings include. . .left handed and socially awkward.
Anyone we know???

He's at it again. . .

That's right folks, Dave The 'Awsomenator' is back and making the hard stuff look easy. Here he is modifying the stock extractors to incorporate a by-pass so that the exhaust will be able to blow straight through for drag racing and alternatively be sent through a complete system, including mufflers, for street use. . .

Firing again. . .

New motor is in the Gasser and has roared its disapproval of being woken from its slumber. . .

Still a few teething problems with fuel pressure, but geez, does this thing make a bloody noise.
Scares the shit out of the neighbourhood every time the bloody thing fires up. . .hehehe

Out they go. . .

Quite often a person will walk through the front door with a dismantled frame and a box of nuts and bolts and then proceed to ask that their project be completed, as was the case with this Harley. The owner wanted the original bike slimmed down and made into a 'sporter'. . .

The boys set about trimming it down and replaced the big tank and seats with the smaller 'Sporter' gear and custom made most of the other stuff you see hear including the exhaust pipes and seat. . .

Mark II is nearly ready for the big 'start-up'. Mark I is dead and buried in the junk pile out the back. Hodgey and the crew are again fighting new deadlines to get the 'Gasser' ready for Queenscliff this time. . .

Things back to normal. . .

What's normal you say? Well the boss is running around looking after a time wasting prick with nothing better to do than annoy people and The Awsomenator is busy putting the gasser back together and the apprentice is making a huge mess down the back corner. . .that's normal!
Poor old Hodgey is welding up 'I' beams for an idiot with more money than brains and after sourcing a new 402 c.i. short motor, Dave is furiously getting the Gasser ready for Queenscliff and who knows what Dylan does?

What, no updates?

Sorry folks, no updates today because Poppy was babysitting his grand daughter. I will pop into the shed tomorrow to see if The Gang has any major upgrades for their collectively adoring public. . .

Dave The 'Awsomenator'. . .

Is there nothing that this bloke can turn his hand to? One minute he is turning out 'Hard-tail' Harley frames by the dozen and then the next minute he is rebuilding a big block Chev for Nigel's 'Gasser'.
Folks, the crown rests uneasily on this super-hero's head. . .

Out they go. . .

Out they go, the two completed frames are awaiting pick-up by owner and are sitting in good company; Johnny's trike sits menacingly in background. . .

Rack 'em up. . .

New frame rails and rear fork tubes arenow welded into place and coversion is complete.
The track length between axles is the same as what was on the soft-tail. . .

Rack 'em up boys. With the completed frame in the background it doesn't take more than two mintes to mount the new frame into the custom jig for the next conversion. Apparently only 'sissies' ride soft-tails?. . .

Plodding along slowly. . .

Now that Dave has finished the plates, they are bolted to the rear axle and put in place on the jig.

Now that the frame and rear plates line up on the jig, Dave can insert the new frame rails and rear forks to make the 'soft-tail' hard. . .

Hot News. . .

Keep an eye on these pages folks as Nigel will be debuting the 'Gasser' at the Queenscliff Rod Show.
The race is now on to ge the new motor into the rig and rebuild it in time for the show.
Remember Nigel's on a hot streak at the moment with his Firebird being released at SM26 to a rousing reception and Top 60 and Encouragement Awards from its first outing. . .

Toughen up the tail. . .

Harley 'soft-tails' are delivered to the shop and put into a jig and cut up to be custom made into 'hard-tails'. . .

Dave has roughed out the shape of a pair of 'hard-tail' axel plates from 10mm steel and has started to drill out the cut out. . .

Two plates are welded together and fabricated together so that they end up being an exact match for each custom frame. . .

Dave Almighty, fair dinkum if it wasn't for this bloke things would be going backwards at the moment. Boss is down the beach and the apprentice is throwing his guts up in the backyard with some sort of 'oyster-born lurgy'. . .hehehe

2013's early arrivals. . .

Have a look at this old Dodge Plymouth. Looks like a bit of a junkyard dog but she is well put together and holding up real well despite her age.

Dylan has been hard at work stripping out the running gear and getting her ready for her transplant. . .

Which by the way is via a Ford XR6. That's right a complete running gear transplant, from the pedals right through to the last bolt in the diff, it's all going into the old girl. Pictured is the motor and gearbox from the donor vehicle. . .

Anthony's 'Bobber'. . .

Another project that has been moved up the schedule and needs to be 'gone' is Anthony's Bobber. As you can see it is very near completion and it has just received its hand made exhaust system. . .

Close-up of the hand-made exhaust that was carefully put together by DIY Dave. Incredible attenton to detail. . .

Congratulations. . .Top 60 at Summernats 26

That's right Nigel's Firebird spent the weekend in the Great Hall at Summernats 26 after being selected as one of the Top 60. As if this recognition was not enough for its first time out at Summernats it went on to receive The Encouragement Award. Certainly prestigious recognition for the painstaking work carried out by the boys at Hodgeys Hotrods and Customs. . .
Some times it pays to take your time with the boys from the 'slow' lane?

Johnny's Trike is back. . .

For those of you who have been missing Johnny's trike lately, here it is back from cyber space and yep, he's still wearing that bloody great grin. . .
