Final Test Run. . .

Dave taking Squiv's cyccle for a final shake down before handing it back.  . .

Into storage for a while . . .

Yep, Corey's EH wagon is going to have to go into storage for a while while we wait on some parts from America. . .
Part of the missing cinsignment includes all the monting brackets for the air-conditioning unit. . .

Danny and Chris . . .

Dylan working flat out on the template for the ntched rear chasis rail so the ute can be lowered rigt into to weeds for that classic low stance that stll allows full suspens travel. . .
Final shape of the template, note all that's left is to cut it out of 3mm steel plate. . .Wouldn it be lovely if we could work out polititions as easy as this, get them into the correct shape and give them a back-bone of steel, instead of the plates of jelly that the lying barstads are, , , ,
Go Dylan, you good thing, grinding up the fink welds on one of the sides and that just levs the othrt side to so. By te time that the you read this, we'll all probably still be asleep in bed awaiting the mid-day alarm clock, after all you can rush good work . . . .

Voodoo . . .

Arthur's new motor sitting in place and Dylan had to spend a couple of hours making up brackets to mount the air-conditioning condensor into place, and then it was a made rush to tour all the auto spares shops trying to find a suitable belt that will fit. . .wait till you hear the screaming when it's revealed how much it cost for this custom fit. . .hehehe

Swiv's bike . . .

Hodgey's been working hard on this one.

HJ Prem . . .

Brucey Boy working hard at getting the inside of the front guards looking like they belong. The GTS flutes have been fitted and 'bogged' in and now the sanding takes place before the body sound deadener is sprayed to kill the road noise and fill in the void with black so it look like it's original . . .

For Sale . . .

Hi Fellas, I've tried to keep this site clear of 'for sale' adds but when it's one of mine, you can understand my exception to the rule. . .hehehe
Brand new, in the box, Hurst Pistol Grip Quarter Stick shifter and all related equipment for a TH350/400 set-up. There's even a couple of the much sought after metal Hurst badges that will be thrown in. This is brand new and never been out of the box apart from these pics.
Please call 0401 413794 for more info.
$300 or will swap for a B&M Pro Ratchet in similar condition...

'51 F 100 . . .

Welcome Danny and Chris to our extended family. They turned up today with their '51 F100 and a whole heap of 'go-go' gear to be fitted to their pride and joy over the next few months as the boys carry out an extensive re-build of the classic old body shape. . .
Chris tells us that she's into muscle cars and we're guessing that this is the reson that a stinking great Cleveland is going to find pride of place between the front chassis rails . . .
Andrew was discussing the current trend towards using the Toyota Hilux chassis as the 'go to' fix for the old F100's but Danny tells us that he is more of a traditional sort of guy and prefers the old Ford set-up. Not to worry says Andrew, we'll just raise the rails and drop the body into the weeds, simple as that. . .
How she arrived, cabin full of front guards and anthing else that could be fit in for the trip up the highway. This cabin is in good nick and should provide the basis for a very nice rod for the family cruising events . . .

Voodoo . . .

As you can see in this pic, the old tail-shaft yolk fitting is going nowhere near the mount on the Turbo 350, so the boys will have to shorten the tailshaft and mount a suitable yolk before progressing any further. As is always the way, nothing is simle in this game . . .

Voodoo . . .

New 350chev has finally found its place into the engine bay and in actual fact takes up very little space compared to the old 6cyl unit . . .
To save time and effort, the boys made up some custom engine mounts to secure the new unit into the bay . . .

Ford Ranchero . . .

Ford Ranchero is back from Trev and the results are spectacular. As can be seen the owners have opted for the distressed look and it looks fantastic . . .
From the look of things you would't think that this was the finished product with a coat of clear in flat . . .
Lately there has been a lot of complaints to the manufacturers of the flar clear finishes due to their silicon bases that actually has the ability to 'bloom' through a chemical process and destroy a good paint job. There is currently a lot of research going on to rectify this problem . . .
New tray in the back of the ute is perfectly matched in its profile and again looks great with the flat finish . . .
How's this for a contrasting finish with the interior, fire engine red. Bright as buggery and really looks the goods . . .

Voodoo . . .

Again it's all hands on deck as the motor has been checked for fit and now is coming out again for mods to the firewall. Simple job and shouldn't take too long. . .
350chev with all new internals delivered at a claimed 320HP and supplied with manifold and 750Holley as well as Turbo 350 gearbox. Nice economical way to upgrade the old girl with a subtantial increase in 'oomph'. Arthur was showing a new design for a leather belt that he is having made up with the Voodoo title printed into it. Trouble is that a 48inch belt will be lucky to get around his neck, let alone his waistline. Artie does love his Cajun chicken when he goes overseas . . .

HJ Prem . . .

As you can see, the bonnet is not going to fit without a pretty big hole being cut in the middle. Not to worry, now that we know for sure I might as well add the spacer between the carby and manifold that I previously discussed with the motor builder . . .

Voodoo . . .

All hands on deck as the old girl is not going to give up her drive-line without a fight. . .
The original motor and gearbox is finally out and with a little help from Dylan will be in pieces soon enough. . .

Drive-in . . .

How's this for a line-up of classic metal? Looks like the line-up at the old drive-in of a Saturday night. Beautiful collection of old cars, restored and not played with. . .

Voodoo . . .

Arthur has got his baby(elephant) in for a heart transplant. The old six cylinder is coming out and a new crate motor in the form of 350 Chev and T700 gearbox will be going in. Poor old girl was getting a bit asthmatic up the hills and Artie wasn't enjoying the ride anymore so a change was definately in the wind . . .

'56 Fairlane . . .

Dave's certainly come to grips with pumping out these custom tow-bars. Nice, neat, functional bars custom fitted to your Hot-rod. . .

'56 Fiarlane . . .

Once you start taking her skirts off, the old girl has plenty of room up her dress for the addition of a purpose built tow bar. These old girls have plenty of structural strength and cross-members between the chassis rails for mounting points. Never mind, Dave's on the job and should be complete in a couple of days, depending on the auto elec getting to it for the rewire of number plate lights and trailer outlet. . .

HJ Prem . . .

Finally getting the underneath towards the completed stage with a few more jobs ticked off the list today. While waiting for the '56 Fairlane to show up for its towbar job, I was able to get the HJ up onto the hoist and get stuck into a few jobs. I have to thenk Dylan for his assistance, he's always a great help when I'm pottering around and without his help, I wouldn't get much done on my own. . .
As you can see, all the suspension and bars are in place and ready to go. Looks great, even if I have to say so myself. Actually, if it handles half as good as it looks I'll piss my pants giggling. Shocks, rear sway bar, hand-brake cables and gearbox filling tube/dipstick all mounted up today. . .
Final ride height? Maybe, maybe not. I'm not happy with the front end sitting up higher than the rear, I want it the other way round just like the Pro-tourer/Pro-stock cars from earlier days. Personally, I don't like the front riding higher with bigs and littles look, each to their own and it's my car, so the nose is going down!

'56 Fairlane . . .

Official title is 1956 Ford Fairlane V8 "Town Sedan". Quite a mouthfull, but a beautifully restored car in great condition. This is another highway driven vehicle in for one of Dave's quick turn-around tow bar installations. . .

Engine bay is a full house with power steering and air-conditioning pumps. As I said, and the pics clearly show, this is one tidy unit. . .
Interior is spacious and very sumptuous with electrically operated windows and bench seat.
