XS650 Yami 'bobber' . . .

This Yami is really starting to come together now and is looking totally re-incarnated, it's a beast.

Front view and we love the drop style handles that will stop him from having to lay over that Peanut tank and take away the pleasure of sitting up and looking cool, gangsta style. Geez, I hope that he doesn't own a scarf, he'll look like fuckin Steve McQueen in The Great Escape !!

Close up of the new pipes hand made system by Andrew. They are currently off the bike and been wrapped with Titanium exhaust cloth for the timeless look and so he doesn't burn holes in his strides; not a good look, especially if you've got a long schlong and it pokes its head out the hole!

Johnny's Trike . . .

Well boys and girls, after all the pain, arguments, fun and frivolity, not forgetting bloody hard work on Andrew's part having to put up with all his old man's complaining, it's finally finished and we take the covers off Johnny's Trike and present it to you for your consideration? Johnny doesn't really give a shit what you think as long as it's finished and he's happy with it. . .

Don't worry about the fluid leak on the floor, Johnny hasn't taken a gun to it yet, just draining the water to replace it with the right fluids so that Johnny don't cook it when he enters the burn-out comps . . .

Big arse end on the beast is necessary to, well, carry a big arse end of course.
Trike has come up fantastically and runs like a dream. Andrew wants to make a couple of little adjustments at a later stage, but for now, he's handed over the keys and look out world!

XS650 Yami bobber . . .

After another day's work and Dave and Dylan have this 'Bobber' looking a real treat. Tiny little headlight has more output than the original and really looks the part for this era and the tail-light number plate assembly is totally freaky, nearly pissed in my pants when I got a look at it . . .

Closer up view of the boy's work and you can see that Andrew has been working overtime with the dremel and grinders to get the joins and new steel looking top shape, he has a very strict code for making it look right or real and won't let shit work leave the shed. That's his big mitt holding the newly formed seat in place just to arouse your excretery juices and get them flowing . . .in other words it's horn material!!!

XS650 Yami Bobber . . .

Have a look at this Baby, new frame welded in and rear wheel fitted up all ready with a new 'Peanut' tank mounted up front. While they were hanging and screwing new shit all over the place, Dave threaded a new chain in as well. I asked Dave how much longer it was and he replied 6inches. I said bullshit, to which he gave me a stupid look and said, you're male, you should know what 6inches looks like. I said with this fuckin weather there ain't nothing in my pocket that even looks half as big as 6inches, I'm telling you straight!
Anyway, the bike looks nice. . .

XS650 Yamaha Cruiser . . .

Nice looking bike dropped in for some work. . .

Good looking old unit wearing 'H' plates and seems a reasonable enough unit? I asked Hodgey what the owner wanted and he said that they "Just have to bob it"!

After a couple of hours it has been totally destroyed and I'm beginning to wonder as to the meaning of 'bob' it?

Another hour or so and the rear end has been hacked off with a power saw. I've never thought that motor cyclists have had too many brains,  but to take your pride and joy into a stranger's shed, hand him a shit load of cash and then he totally fucks your bike for you doesn't seem to smack of too many smarts to me? I hope he doesn't want it back soon coz it's totally rooted. . .

'55 Mercury . . .

After telling you all about the fabtabulous rims that have to be shoe-horned into the Mercury's tight arse, I thought that I should show you a pic of them. . my fault, sorry!

Vandalism at the shed . . .

While the boys were out to lunch, someone gained entry to the shed and spray painted Johnnies bike all over in flat black 'rattle can' black paint and hung this little basket under the headlight. Not to worry, they were stupid enough to leave the can and lid and they have both been sent for finger printing. The last I saw Johnny he was cutting a length if 2inch pipe about 2foot long  at the drop saw bench, so rest easy fools coz Johnny's coming through the night . . .

'55 Mercury . . .

The owner dropped in some nice new billet wheels for the Mercury and new rubber too.
Have a look at those dimensions on the rubber.

Thirty five centimetre wide rubber to fit into a gap that is only 30cm before hitting the chassis rail, Geez, here we go again?

HJ . . .

Yep the HJ is in the news again boys. Here's the diff assembly all ready to hang in underneath. We have a VL diff shortened, fitted with 3.55:1 gears of the limited to slip variety and billet axels. As you can see from the pic the diff has also been braced for a bit extra strength. Tubular lower arms and adjustable upper arms round out the package. Should be swinging from its mounts by the time that you read this . . .

General News . . .

For those of you who have been ringing in and wondering about Johnnie's Trike, well it's been taken off him for being a naughty boy and he will get it back when he learns that he's not allowed to hang donuts on people's front lawns, or even back lawns in one case. So if he plays nice, I'm sure that Andrew will do some of the left-over jobs on it this week while he is banned from riding it?

The HJ? Well the poor old HJ has been put up on stands in a corner and put down on the list while a few of the other jobs get done. Not to worry folks, I'll keep sneaking in and do a few things to keep her ticking over while the rest of the shed is so busy, keep your fingers crossed that I don't fuck anything up . . .

Manx . . .

Lot of interest being shown in this one, 5 or 6 people have dropped into the shed already just to cast their eye over the old buggy. Must be bringing back memories from their teenage years when these things were the 'in' mode of getting around to all the Flower Power Conferences. . .
Actually looks really good with the sides filled in and the big chrome wheels . . .Peace Baby!

SS Impala : Job Done . . .

Job's done and it turned out really well, in the end. The big rig had a few little surprises for the boys along the way, but now she looks great. This is ride height on those big 15x15 wheels.

Huge tubs neatly finished off and when the new paint over the body deadener wears off, they will look like a normal part of the car. The boot is so large that you could hide anything in there. . .

Have a look at this, after fitting 9inches off extra steel into the tubs, the furniture fits straight back in. Not quite, there was the smallest of small modifications to the upper seat sides to get them back in and Bob's your uncle. . .

Shitty day for such a nice car to go for a trailer ride, but onto the trailer she goes. The owner hasn't told her yet that he has a dirty great 500 and something big block sitting at home that he's gonna drop down her throat and then flog the shit out of her, but I can see them being a very happy couple. . .Hooroo

'55 Mercury - New job . . .

'55 Mercury that arrived today that has been started somewhere else and as so often is the case, the car is removed to a new shed for finishing, for whatever the reasons. This is the way it arrived today with a chop top, guards and other panels stacked inside and fully complete with a galvanised metal windscren . . .

Rear view of the Mercury as it starts its new refurbishment in the capable hands of Hodgey and the boys . . .

SS Impala . . .

Tubs being installed into the big boot space of the Impala. You can see that the old section of tub has been kept to keep the original look and centre section welded in to the required width . .

Huge boot space that still swallows up the two gigantic new tubs . . .

Manx . . .

Anti-intrusion side bars in process of being installed and taking shape of new body contour .

Side panelling being installed brings a completely new look to the buggy . ..

SS Impala . . .

This is the problem that we were left with so Dave and Hodgey decided to lengthen the lower trailing arms by one inch to get the wheel off the arch . . .

Trailing arm has had one inch added to the middle and now Dave will box the whole arm to add strength . . .

Boxed section is obvious and trailing arm ready to be replaced . . .

Trailing arm being re-mounted into bracketry. After fixing both lower trailing arms the wheels still managed to rest against the wheel arch so the boys did some measuring and it was necessary to add 35mm to the upper control arm and also box it for strength and then re-adjust the pinion angle and then check the result again . . .

Success, the wheel is sitting in a neutral position with no rubbing and when the springs are re-mounted the car will ride approx one to one and a half inches higher . . .

HJ . . .

Not only is Dylan really handy when it comes to stripping the HJ back to bare metal, he even had time to supply a new number plate for the sedan. It's sooo much easier when you have really tallented people all around you thinking three or four steps ahead. Great job Dylan it's great to have you and your talents around mate . . .

Manx . . .

Seems as if Dave had a proper plan all along and it wasn't for Santa's Sleigh, here we can see the side structure ready for the side walls to be installed and the body is sitting nicely in place. . .
From the rear you can see that both floor sections are mounted and fixed into place. Fixing is finished with Sikaflex sealing goo, this is black sticky shit that sticks to anything and always makes a bloody mess wherever you use it . . .
Closer picture of the flooring sections and it can be seen that the metal has has ridging applied along and across the panels to give the floors more strength Ridging not being quite the right description for the work carried out and I hate it when you're trying to think of a word and it's on the tip of your bloody tongue, not to worry, you all know what I mean. . .
