'34 Coupe . . .

Brad from Geelong has again entrusted his '34 to Hodgey for its current update. The Coupe received a new front end, elsewhere and it's back to Hodgey to be fixed up ready for new paint and roadworthiness. Hodgey has fitted all new front brakes and bracketry for the radiator and front mounts as well as making up new mounts for the headlights. Aparently this thing used to get the 'wanders' during its 6second passes and the new front end, hopefully, will secure this . . .

Danny and Chris . . .

Meanwhile after finding no other suitable work, Dylan has turned his attentions back to the L'il Pick-up. This time round he is running the new loom through the running gear . . .

'56 Victoria . . .

Dave has been working consistently on this big job and the diff is centred and back in place. . .
Another view of the diff in place . . .
Fuel tank has been fitted in place and is back out to fit the filler and sender unit as well as a final spray . . .

'56 Victoria . . .

Dylan has switched over to finalising the big fuel cell that Dave started earlier this week and it looks like the big motor might be running a fair bit of fuel up front with a return line necessary?
Dylan spent a day or so welding up the gaping great holes in the firewall earlier this week and then Hodgey had to turn his considerable tallent to the Steering geometry that was sooo out of whack that the big Vicky was going to be doing its fair share of donuts with the current system bent out of shape the way it was. . .it certainly had no chance of running a straight line down the quarter!

Danny and Chris . . .

Dave working hard on the front end of Chris' L'il Pick-up. His latest job has been to fabricate some new suspension towers for the front coil-overs. . .
Close-up view of Dave's new front shock towers and they look as if they have grown there. . .

'34 Coupe . . .

Here's one we prepared earlier on. . .and it's back for some badly needed refinishing. The front end has been modified with new suspension and repairs from an accident. . .
Rear view of this beast some alarm some folk out there but believe us when we say that the parachute is completely necessary and might even need to be doubled up! A peek under the bum at the four link and coil-overs might offer some insight as to what's lurking up front?
WTF? 721ci Donovan block off-shore motor that is more than capable of pulling your smelly socks off. . .
Inside this piece of Old Time Rock and Roll is all business with the minimum of padding and the maximum of straight shooting mayhem. . .

Ziggy's Studie . . .

Zigg's Studie is "All stops out" to get it ready for the upholsteror tomorrow morning. The boys are working overtime to get all the 'left-over' wiring finished and complete a few other last minute 'small' jobs. . . .
What a nightmare, interior far from complete but ready enough for the upholsteror to move in . . .
The problem with shaved doors and door poppers in Oz is that the Rego Branches require an external means to open the doors! These external plungers do the job perfectly and you have to look twice to see that they are not the door locks on the inside of the window. . . .

Danny and Chris . . .

The L'il Pick-up  is back on its four wheels and is looking good.

The Danny and Chris corner. Big Pick-up and L'il Pick-up in the foreground. His and Her's combined. . .

Bert's Drifter . . .

This is one that we haven't seen for a while and it's been sitting quietly waiting for a few updates.
Andrew pulled the covers off the other day and got out the different measuring sticks and made up this fantastic template for the back window and carefully fitted all the Ford Escape locking and wiper systems in place so that it can be sent off for a custom glass cut later. . .looking good.

'56 Ford Victoria . . .

And finally the tubs are finished, with the result being a bloody good looking boot with plenty of space reserved for those huge drag radials now housed in the massive tubs . . .
Dave has now switched his attention to fabricating a new fuel cell to feed the very hungry 700HP motor that's going to find residence up front . . .

Danny and Chris . . .

Dylan has certainly been putting in the hard yards on the L'il Pick-up lately. He has made up a new fuel cell seen here, and. . .
pulled the whole lot apart and put the wire wheel to good effect when he had to rub the whole frame back before throwing three or four coats of chassis black onto the freshly prepped metal . . .

'56 Ford Victoria . . .

Geez, I hope that he didn't want this thing back in one piece soon? Them there's are FN big holes!
And he's not finished yet. Dave showing this rig no mercy and using up cut-off wheels like they're going out of fashion. . .
Well how quickly things can change, Dave has been doing a fair bit of metal jig-saw puzzling and the bum is back in place with the wheel tubs tacked in ready for the centre strip. . .
And here's one we prepared earlier on, Dave has finshed the welding work on the LHS and in my opinion the car should have been supplied like this in the first place. . .

Joe's Mercury . . .

This is why the really good show cars look sooo bloody good, really expensive and extensive bling. . .
This is a complete system for the Cleveland and I noticed the arrival of a very schmick looking 'Flaming River' steering column today that will soon be joining all this brightness in the engine bay . . .

L'il Pick-up . . .

Dylan's got his work cut out for him here, this front end looks like it's been shot by a frigging shotgun more times than not over the years. After enlarging the transmission tunnel he has to weld up and grind down all the unnecessary holes in the firewall . . .
As you can see from the pic, Dylan has finished off the rear window well and it looks great . . .
Downstairs and 'D' has been at it again, this time replacing the outer sills and furnishing new bases for the front seat . . .
Talk about a busy boy. Dylan had to basically rebuild most of the surrounding framework of the radiator/front panel and then set-to and make a new grill for it. . .outstanding!
Move over 'D', the big bloke has stepped in and spread his shoulders and picked up the biggest FN grinder that he could find and has taken to the front end. Seems that Chris wants her front end running coil-overs and the big fella has to make some 'changes' to the current system to allow the fit-up of the fatter units, no problems, we like sparks!

Hodgey's '34 Tudor . . .

Great form and shape to Hodgey's work, without exception! These rear wheel guards are simply sublime, but at the same time are built like the proverbial 'brick shithouse'. The bracketry and mounting system would be right at home on one of Melbourne's new friggin skyscrapers, such is the regidity of the things!
Mounted in place and certainly looking the goods . . .
A quick lap of the car-park and then onto the jack just enough to take up the stress. . .
Moving right along, we now have the first of the front guards made up and Hodgey standing by ready with the spray gun . . .

Danny and Chris . . .

Dylan is quickly finding his marque in the panel making side of things and when 'left too it' he does a great job. Here he has been slowly but surely reconstructing the rear window surrounds in the L'il Pick-up . . .

Visitor to shed . . .

This nice C10 dropped by to make some enquiries as to having some new inner guards made up. Apparently this cold weather is letting a few too many draughts up her skirts . Check the photo gallery for more pics . . .

Hodgey's '34 Tudor . . .

I've said a few times in the past that "We like sparks ', but fair go brother, this is shit loads of sparks! Something must be cooking . . .
This is the result of all the sparks and by the thickness of that plate something 'heavy metal' is brewing. . .
That's a big arse and they're some big arsed wheels. Hodgey's next trick is to make up guards to cover those wheels. If you closely, you can see those mud-guards sitting on the ground at the rear of the car. That huge friggin base mount that you see in Hodgey's big paw is the start of the mounts for the new mud guards. . .stay tuned.

HJ Prem . . .

What kind of tool leaves a mint condition door standing around in mud for months on end? This is the result of a mint Statesman door left in the mud at a wrecking yard. . .FN unbelievable!
The only 'normal' work to be carried out is the welding up of the side protective strip's mounting holes. I can't believe the lower damage on this door due to being left slopping around in mud?
My mate 'D' hard at work on my Prem again, this time filling in the holes left by the side mouldings and making a new section in the bottom of the door due to rust damage from sitting around in mud. . .

Danny and Chris . . .

Dylan is a busy boy at the moment. This time he's turned out a new tail-gate for the 'Little' Pick-up and it's certainly looking good at this stage. .

'56 Ford Victoria . . .

This is how Hodgey gives us all a 'Master Class' in fabrication. The chassis rail is just cut at the right point and moved inboards the width of the frame rail and then the custom 'S' curves are welded in . . .
This is what the finished product looks like. Quite simply, it looks like the frame rails are standard issue from Ford . . .
Michael dropped by the other day and was quite surprised to see his chassis sitting in the jig so quickly after he dropped off the car a couple of days earlier. Wait until he see's what's going on today . . .
