Another finished project. . .

Run your eyes over this custom project. The owner wanted it built to ride and she's a bit of a 'mish-mash' of parts, but she came together beautifully and runs like a dream. . .or does it dream to run?
Titanium exhaust wraps to stop the old calf muscles from getting too warm during extended runs. . .
Still on the stand but nearing completion, I think we were still waiting on Quickey to finish the wiring at this stage? Seems to be a familiar stage with a lot of the projects in the shed? Quickey where are ya mate?
Handwritten paint job says it all. . .Pykes Peak Entrant 1951.
Race fuel only, geez that'd be a few dollars more these days, fillin her up with race fuel?
Finished job awaiting the owner to pick her up.
Custom frame built up as a 'Board Tracker'. . .
Harley Anniversary 103cubic motor and box, 6 speed from memory. But she's a 2003 model with very low K's out of a wreck from Tassie.
The owner wanted her to be built up
'looking used'. Well after she'd been around the block a couple of times with Hodgey's big arse in the saddle, she's feelin used!
Headlight housing is supplied with a few dints and scratches from a close shave with the bitumen and the rear guard has a few extra screw holes from its previous owner, all adding up to the owner's required 'theme'. . .

Pumping it too hard. . .

This is an interesting one, Voodoo's in for some quick maintenance. Seems like someone pumped up the bags a bit too hard and broke a shocker tower?
She's a big bitch and still turns the heads in a crowd. . .ya gotta love a big bitch!

New job into the shed. . .

Front end says V8 and the rear end says Ford.
She's genuine tin from the good ole boys in the USA, yep left hook on this chunk of Yankee metalwork.
There's enough room under them guards to house a whole family of racoons, but I'm thinking it will be monster style rubber instead.
This should keep the 'Blue Oval' boys happy for a little while. . .shame about Bathurst again?

Quick two hours for Dave. . .

One 'punter' drops in his Soft-Tail frame and asks for a new back-bone with clean lines? I'll be back in a couple of hours, shouldn't take any longer than that?
Frame is mounted to a jig and old spine removed. . .clock is ticking.
New back-bone tacked in place and looking good. . .
Dave lining up the neck and tack-welding supports in place. . . might line up straighter if he opens his eyes?
Everything in place and check fit for the motor.
Dave takes the rest of the two hours to finish all welds and neatly grind for a smooth finish.
Time taken?

Final touches. ..

Tail-gate looks the business with the Ford emblem stamped into the skin. . .
Steve Smith from Motor Pro making the final adjustments to the Gas Research top end. Motor was fired up and ran like a dream.
Jailbar has been loaded onto a flat top and taken home by one very happy owner. . .

The Guilty One. . .

For a while now, we've been trying to figure out who keeps pinching all the lollies. . .
And now the camera doesn't lie. . . .

Respect. . .

Very sad news today with the passing of Hodgey and Kazz's beloved Pop. . . .

Family cuts deep Big Fella, but the memories are yours to keep.
Positive thoughts for the quiet times ahead Bloke,
La Familia. . .

Movement on the Jailbar. . .

Bleeding the brakes on the Jailbar takes time like everything else. Serious braking system from full house Hilux running gear, this rig is running a real kranky donk and you just gotta be able to haul that mongrel to a stop when it's necessary. . .
Seats are finally racked and installed. This old pick-up is haulin' some serious mumbo and if the brake pedal is pushed to the metal, you don't want the seats ripping out of their mounts and launching the occupants through the glass-work.
It's not just a matter of sticking nuts and bolts through the old holes, any idiot can do that! Serious consideration has to be given to how these changes are going to be structurally effective. . .note also the contact buttons in the door recess for speaker wires and window electrics, very cool!
Simple but very effective instrument cluster and quick release steering wheel. Twin gas tanks out the back read as a single unit and contents are shown via regular style fuel gauge. Big billet pedals for brakes and accelerator.

More of the Pink. . .

It's Flamingo season at the workshops. Kazz has been hard at making a suitable mate for Mr Nasty from yesterday. Note the smooth, flowing curves of a lady flamingo beginning to take shape. . .
Waiting for her wings and more importantly her 'Pink Bits'. No lady Flamingo is complete without her pink bits. . .

New Designs. . .

Hodgey's multi-talented sister Kazz has been at it again. . .she is amazing, just looks at pieces of sheet metal and see's what's inside, and off she goes with the grinder and mig. . .
This is a custom designed left handed axe for her big brother to chop the fire wood. He was having trouble with the right handed version. . .
Simple beauty, flamingo drying its new pink feathers in Ballarat's short lived sunshine. Kazz's work is some of the most 'in-demand' hand crafted abstract designs currenty around. Give the shop a call and have a chat with her about your ideas. . .but beware, way out designs come from waaay out places. . .hahaha

Next Job Rolls In. . .

This is the next job to roll in for a full make-over, as per a lot of projects these days this one has already had a shit load of money spent/wasted on it and now the owner has pulled the job and wants it done properly from scratch.
Beautiful lines of the '48 Buick 'Senator'. . .
That's a big arse for any 'lady' to carry around. . .
Interior has basically been chopped up for a RHD conversion but it is a bloody mess, plenty of work to be done in here. . .

New day, new beginning. . .

This one has been out of the shop for a while getting the new 'Gas Research' top end fitted to the 351 Cleveland. Nice clean lines this 41 Ford Jailbar is being fully restored to run errands as the daily ride for its owner. . .
41 Ford Jailbar showing its nice clean rear-end curves. . .
Pictured from above, the rear 'underneath' see's that there has been considerable work carried out. Twin gas tanks and a Hilux rear-end work well together. Owner originally wanted a four-link and it looked great too, until a change of mind saw the four-link removed and the Hilux style system re-installed with a Ford 9inch
Engine bay has been nicely smoothed and now houses a 351 Cleveland that has been described as 'nasty' and the twin Gas Research set-up certainly adds to the overall appeal of the 'nasty' tag. Color on the firewall is final color forwhole car and is a Ford original. Radiator is fitted with all new internals and is originally from a '34. . .

Job Done. . .

Job is now complete and boot area is tidy as. Car is looking real good and sitting really low as requested and customer is over the moon with the final look.
Control unit set-up is fairly 'in your face' and commands a fair amount of space under the dash area. The old Chev looks really clean and is in top original condition and the low stance really suits the Chevy. . .
Super low stance, this Chevy now looks sooo damn cool and handles like a dream on the road. .
Have a look at the huge arse this old girl is hiding in the grass. Hodgey's gonna have to mow the lawn to check the ride height. Seriously folks this old girl looks, and has the performance to match, like a serious bad arse. . .

Nearing completion. . .

Fitting the new bags up into the old front spring towers, also note the new custom made shocker mount. . .
Just when it was all coming together, Rocket supply the wrong bags for the rear end! Not to worry, out with the old and in with the new. Hodgey hand crafted a larger rear mount with bigger bag towers to secure the larger air bags to.
Nothing worries this guy, he just makes up a whole new assembly because the supplier can't get the order right and the owner wants his car 'now'. . . Delivery day is still listed for this Thursday.
